After a long day at the office I was surprised wit

After a long day at the office I was surprised with a early arrival of @redlineoil order. Full race-prep underway for the Spec Iron car. Guess I can retire the ole' Red Line Oil snapback. Highly recommend Red Line D4 ATF with the TR3650 and T45. Next event is @champcarenduranceseries at @roadamerica.

May not look like much but this is the most assembled the ROUSH has been in several years. Roof is bonded and most of the exterior body and trim are back on. A few more items to finish before the lexan gets installed.

Photo from the day I bought the Spec Iron car. Car was trailered from Florida to Tennessee by the owner on his way to pickup a new track Mustang. I took a one way flight to TN, and hitched a ride to a hotel parking lot near the airport. I bought the car and we unloaded it in the lot. I planned to drive the car back to WI. No side windows, caged, full containment seat, a legit race car. It was a bit cramped inside - I shared the cockpit with a set of wheels w/slicks and some other spare parts. No radio, no interior, and no mufflers. I was assured it was road worthy, it was on a good set of rain tires and I was assured all the lights and wipers worked. It didnt take long for me to realize I only had one brake light and no turn signals. The wipers and headlights worked at least! Was great seeing people's reaction when they saw the car. I took the picture at a rest stop in Kentucky. I somehow avoided the attention of the police. I left a rest stop in Indiana and found it extremely difficult to get into 3rd gear, I pulled off to investigate and found that the shift linkage bushing had disintegrated. As I tried to fix the issue it only got worse, now it appeared I hand no gears. I managed to get it into 4th and limped the car up to speed. It was now well past 10pm or so, I phoned a friend to bring my truck and trailer and got some rest... as best you can in a racing seat, swatting bugs away in the cool spring air. My transport arrived and the rest of the journey was uneventful. Could not be happier with the car so far.
